Curtain Tie-Back Pattern #994

Materials: J. & P. Coats Knit-Cro-Sheen, 1 ball of Maroon. About 160 yds. are required for each tie-back.
Clark's O.N.T. or J & P. Coats Six Strand, 1 skein each of Ecru and Lt. Steel Blue.
Milward's steel crochet hook No. 6.

When completed, each tie-back measures about 16 inches long and 2½ inches wide.

Gauge: 10 sts make 1 inch; 9 rows make 1 inch.

Starting at long end, with Maroon make a chain about 18 inches long. 1st row: S c in 2nd ch from hook, s c in each ch across until row measures 16 inches. Cut off remaining chain. Ch 1, turn. 2nd row: S c in each s c across, picking up front loop only of each s c of previous row. Ch 1, turn. Repeat 2nd row until 11 ridges are made. Break off.

Embroidery. Use full Six Strand. Starting at one long end, with Ecru work over-and-over stitches into every other stitch on 1st ridge. With Lt. Steel Blue, work in same manner on 2nd ridge. Skip 3 ridges. Work next ridge in Blue. Skip 3 ridges. Work next ridge in Blue, and last ridge in Ecru. Then, with Ecru, work over-and-over stitches into every stitch of ridge on both sides of center ridge.

Make another tie back same as this. Fasten to window frame with push pins.
