Approximately 50 x 72 Inches

MATERIALS: Chadwick's Red Heart Afghan Wool, 39 skeins (¾ oz. skeins) of Shaded Browns, and 27 skeins (1 oz. skeins) of Antique Brown.
Milward's Steel Crochet Hook No. 2/0 (double zero).

Gauge: Each chevron measures about 10 inches between points.

Starting at bottom with Brown, ch 310 (about 4 ch sts to 1 inch). 1st row: S c in 2nd ch from hook, s c in next 29 ch, * 3 s c in next ch (inc.), s c in next 30 ch (a chevron completed); skip 1 ch (dec.), s c in next 30 ch. Repeat from * until 5 chevrons are made. Cut off remaining chain. Ch 1, turn. Hereafter pick up only back loop of each s c, except 1st and last s c's of each row (to keep edges firm). 2nd row: Skip 1st s c, * s c in next 30 s c, 3 s c in center st of 3-s c group, s c in next 30 s c, skip 2 s c at dec. Repeat from * across, omitting next to last s c. Ch 1, turn. Repeat 2nd row until Brown measures 4 inches (take all measurements along straight edges at sides). Break off. Work 2½ inches Shaded Browns. Break off. Work 4 inches Brown (always be sure to have same number of rows in stripes of same measurement). Work 10 inches Shaded Browns. This completes color pattern. Repeat color pattern from beginning 2 more times. Work 4 inches Brown, 2½ inches Shaded Browns, 4 inches Brown. Fasten off.
