Materials Required—AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY "STAR" or "GEM" MERCERIZED CROCHET COTTON, Size 20 or 30

1–300 Yd. Ball White or Colors.
Steel Crochet Hook No. 10 or 11.

Each Motif measures about 3 inches. Doily measures 9 inches through the center.

Motif. Ch 7, join to form a ring, ch 1, 11 s c in ring, join.

2nd Row. Ch 9, 1 tr c in next st, * ch 5, 1 tr c in next st, repeat from * 9 times, ch 5, join in 4th st of ch.

3rd Row. Ch 1, * 1 s c in each of the 1st 2 sts, 3 s c in next st, 1 s c in each of the next 2 sts, repeat from * 11 times.

4th Row. Ch 1, 1 s c in each of the next 3 s c (take up the back loop of stitch only in the next 2 rows) 3 s c in next st, * 1 s c in each of the next 6 s c, 3 s c in point, repeat from * 10 times, 1 s c in each of the next 3 s c.

5th Row. Ch 1, 1 s c in each of the next 4 s c, 3 s c in point, * 1 s c in each of the next 8 s c, 3 s c in point, repeat from * 10 times, 1 s c in each of the next 4 s c.

6th Row. Ch 7, 1 d c in point, ch 5, 1 d c in same point, * ch 3, 1 tr c between points, ch 3, 1 d c in next point, ch 3, 1 tr c between points, ch 3, 1 d c in point, ch 5, 1 d c in same point, repeat from * all around joining row in 4th st of ch.

7th Row. Ch 1, 3 s c in loop, * 6 s c in corner loop, 3 s c in each of the next 4 loops, repeat from * all around.

8th Row. Ch 4, skip 1 st, 1 d c in next st, ch 1, skip 1 st, 1 d c in next st, ch 1, skip 1 st, 1 d c in next st, ** ch 3, 1 d c in same space, * ch 1, skip 1 st, 1 d c in next st, repeat from * 8 times and from ** all around. There should be 9 meshes between points.

9th Row. Ch 3, 1 d c in mesh, 1 d c in next d c, 1 d c in next mesh, 1 d c in next d c, 1 d c in next mesh, 1 d c in d c, ** 2 d c in point, ch 3, 2 d c in same point, * 1 d c in d c, 1 d c in mesh, repeat from * 9 times and from ** all around. Work 6 more motifs and join them together as illustrated.

Edge. Join thread in corner, ch 3, 2 d c in same space, ch 3, 3 d c in same space, ch 3, skip 1 d c, 3 d c in next d c, ch 3, 3 d c in same space, * ch 5, skip 4 d c, s c in next d c, ch 5, skip 4 d c, 3 d c in next d c, ch 3, 3 d c in same space, repeat from * once.
