Materials Required—AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY "STAR" PEARL COTTON, Size 5.
3-60 Yd. Balls Peach or any Color desired.
1-60 Yd. Ball White for Trim.
Steel Crochet Hook No. 8.
1 Bone Ring.

With White, ch 36, and work 34 s d c on ch. (s d c, thread over needle insert in st and work off all loops at one time) ch 2, turn.
2nd Row. Decrease 1 st at beginning of row, ch 2, turn.
3rd Row. Decrease 1 st at end of row, ch 2, turn.
Repeat these 2 rows twice. Break thread. Always ch 2 to turn.
8th Row. Attach Peach. Increase 1 st each side picking up back loop only. Pick up back loop only in all the rest of bonnet.
9th, 10th and 11th Rows. Increase 2 sts each side of each row.
12th Row. Increase 1 st at beginning of row and 2 sts at end of row.
13th, 14th, 15th and 16th Rows. Increase 1 st each side of each row.
17th Row. Increase 1 st at beginning of row and 2 sts at end of row.
18th Row. Increase 1 st at beginning and 1 st at end of row.
19th Row. Increase 1 st at beginning and 2 sts at end of row.
20th Row. Increase 2 sts at beginning of row.
21st Row. Work even.
22nd Row. Increase 1 st at the beginning of row.
23rd, 24th and 25th Rows. Work even.
26th Row. Decrease 1 st at end of row and work 1 row even.
28th Row. Decrease 1 st at end of row.
29th, 30th, 31st, 32nd, 33rd, 34th and 35th Rows. Decrease 1 st at beginning and 1 st at end of each row.
36th Row. Skip 1 st, 1 s d c in each of the next 11 sts, s c in next st, ch 1, turn.
Next Row. Skip 1 st, 1 s c in next st, 1 s d c in each of the next 9 sts, ch 2, turn.
Next Row. Skip 1 st, 1 s d c in each of the next 6 sts, 1 s c in next st, ch 1, turn.
Next Row. Skip 1 st, 1 s d c in each of the next 4 sts, break thread. Work a second section and crochet together with s c, using White thread at band and Peach thread for rest of bonnet.
Embroider a row of ch sts in White around front of bonnet about 1¼ inches from front edge as illustrated.
Scallop for front of bonnet.
With White fasten thread at top front of bonnet, * ch 3, 2 d c in same space, skip 1 st, sl st in next st, repeat from * down front to band, break thread.
Bows. With White, ch 85 and work 84 s d c on ch, break thread and tie in bow. Make another bow. Attach bows to bonnet as illustrated.
Cover ring with s c and sew to back of bonnet.
