Materials: Clark's O.N.T. Mercerized Crochet, size 30, 7 balls of Autumn Glow, 5 balls of Sport Green and 3 balls of Yellow; or J. & P. Coats Mercerized Crochet, size 30, 5 balls of Autumn Glow, 3 balls of Sport Green and 2 balls of Yellow.
Milward's steel crochet hook No. 10.

When completed, head rest measures about 20 x 12 inches, and each arm rest about 12 x 8 inches.

Head Rest. Starting at center, with Yellow, chain 10. Join with sl st to form ring. 1st rnd: 16 s c in ring. 2nd rnd: * S c in next s c, 2 s c in following s c (an increase). Repeat from * around (8 increases in rnd). 3rd rnd: * S c in each of next 2 s c, 2 s c in next s c (an increase). Repeat from * around (8 increases in rnd). Work in this manner around, making increases over increases (thus forming octagon), until piece measures 2 inches in diameter (from side to side). Break off, attach Autumn Glow and continue in same manner until piece measures 2¼ inches in diameter. Then, to keep work flat, skip the last s c before each increase until piece measures 2¾ inches in diameter. Then work in each s c around, making increases as before, until piece measures 3¼ inches in diameter. Break off, attach Sport Green and continue in same manner until piece measures 4 inches in diameter. Break off. This completes one motif. Make 14 more motifs same as this and sew together on wrong side, arranging them as in illustration.

Arm Pieces. Work 6 motifs exactly as for head rest and sew together, arranging them as in illustration.
