Jabot. Starting at center, ch 3, join with sl st to form ring. 1st row: Ch 2, make 8 s c in ring. Ch 5, turn. 2nd row: D c in 1st s c, * ch 2, d c in next s c, repeat from * across. Ch 3, turn. 3rd row: * 2 d c in next sp, d c in next d c, repeat from * across, ending row with d c in 3rd st of turning ch-5. Ch 5, turn. 4th row: Tr in each d c with ch-1 between each tr. Ch 3, turn. 5th row: D c in each sp and in each d c. Ch 6, turn. 6th row: Same as 4th row. Ch 3, turn. 7th row: Same as 5th row. Ch 8, turn. 8th row: * Skip 1 d c, tr tr (thread over hook 4 times) in next d c, ch 2, repeat from * across. Ch 3, turn. 9th row: 2 d c in each sp and d c in each d c. Ch 9, turn. 10th row: * Skip 1 d c, long tr tr (thread over hook 5 times) in next d c, ch 2. Repeat from * across. Ch 3, turn. 11th and 12th rows: Repeat 9th and 10th rows. 13th row: 2 d c in each sp and d c in each long tr tr. Ch 12, turn. 14th row: * Skip 2 d c, in next st make a long tr tr as before, but thread over 6 times (instead of 5 times), ch 3. Repeat from * across. Ch 1, do not turn but work as follows: 1st row: Working toward center and across to opposite corner, work a row of s c making enough s c to keep work flat (this is neck edge). Then make 3 s c in each sp and 1 s c in each long tr tr of previous row. Ch 1, turn. 2nd row: S c in back loop of each st of previous row, decreasing 1 st at center point of neck edge. Do not turn. 3rd row: Ch 3, d c in each s c around, decreasing 3 sts at center point of neck edge and increasing 2 sts at each corner. Ch 1, turn. 4th row: Same as 2nd row. Ch 1, turn. 5th row: Same as 2nd row. Break off.
Collar. Starting at neck edge, ch 78 (to measure about 9 inches), turn. 1st row: S c in 2nd ch from hook, and in each ch across. Ch 1, turn. 2nd row: S c in each s c across, picking up only the back loop of s c's. Break off. 3rd row: Attach thread to beginning of previous row, ch 3, and work d c in each s c across. Ch 1, turn. 4th row: S c in each d c across, picking up only the back loop of d c's. Ch 1, turn. 5th row: Same as 2nd row. Ch 14, turn. 6th row: * Skip 2 s c, long tr tr in next s c (thread over hook 6 times), ch 4, repeat from * across. Break off. 7th row: Attach thread to the last st of foundation ch, and work a row of s c across to next corner, along outer edge and down short side. Ch 1, turn. 8th to 11th rows incl: Repeat 2nd to 5th rows incl., increasing 2 sts at each corner on 9th row. Break off. Sew collar to jabot at one side. Sew snap fastener to opposite side.
