Fringe Pattern
Suggested pattern for Fringes
Use a fringe to decorate your cottage curtains or, a very new idea, as a valance one, two or three rows deep, at the top of your draperies. If you prefer, make your fringe in this pattern, following Fringe S-570 pattern for approximate amounts of thread.
Make a chain slightly longer than length desired. 1st row: Make 5 dc in 6th ch from hook (shell made), * ch 3, skip next 7 ch, make a shell in next ch. Repeat from * across until piece measures length desired. Cut off remaining chain. Ch 5, turn. 2nd row: * Make shell in center dc of next shell (shell made over shell), ch 2. sc in next sp, ch 2. Repeat from * across, ending with shell over last shell. Ch 5, turn. 3rd row: * Make shell over next shell, ch 3. Repeat from * across. Ch 5, turn. 4th row: Work as for 2nd row. Ch 1, turn. 5th row: Sc in first 2 dc, * in next dc make sc, ch 3 and sc; sc in next 2 dc, ch 5, sc in next 2 dc. Repeat from * across. Break off.
Make a fringe in each ch-3 sp and in each ch-5 loop across same as for Fringe S-570 pattern.
