Suggested pattern for Edgings
Try these edgings on bathroom, bedroom or kitchen curtains—they add a special custom-made finish. Use J. & P. Coats or Clark's O.N.T. Mercerized Crochet Cotton, Size 30, with Milwards Steel Crochet Hook No. 10 or J. & P. Coats "Knit-Cro-Sheen" with Milwards Steel Crochet Hook No. 7.
Starting at narrow end, ch 12. 1st row: In 6th ch from hook make dc, ch 2 and dc (V st made); ch 5, skip next 5 ch, in next ch make dc, ch 2 and dc (another V st). Ch 5, turn. 2nd row: V st in sp of first V st, ch 3, sc in next sp, ch 3, V st in next V st. Ch 5, turn. 3rd row: (V st over next V st, ch 5) twice; 5 dc in previous turning ch-5. Ch 8, turn. 4th row: Dc in 6th ch from hook, (dc in next dc of 5 dc group, ch 5, dc in last dc made) 3 times; dc in next dc, ch 5, V st over next V st, ch 3, sc in next sp, ch 3, V st over next V st. Ch 5, turn. 5th row: V st over first V st, ch 5, V st over next V st. Ch 5, turn. Repeat 2nd to 5th rows incl until piece measures length desired, ending with 4th row. Break off.
HEADING … Attach thread to first ch-5 loop on straight edge, sc in same place, * ch 5, sc in next loop. Repeat from * across. Break off.
