MATERIALS: Clark's O.N.T. Cotton Rug Yarn, 1 ball of Hunter's Green ... Clark's O.N.T. Plastic Crochet Hook No. 7.
Starting at center, ch 4. 1st rnd: 13 dc in 4th ch from hook. Join with sl st to 4th ch of ch-4. 2nd rnd: Ch 4 (to count as dc), thread over, insert hook from front of work between last dc made and starting chain of previous rnd and bring hook out (from back to front of work) between starting chain and following dc, thread over and draw loop through, (thread over and draw through 2 loops) twice (a raised st made), * dc in next 2 dc, thread over, insert hook from front of work in sp between dc's immediately preceding the dc in which last dc was made on previous rnd and bring hook out (from back to front of work) between this last dc and the following dc, thread over and draw loop through and complete a raised st as before. Repeat from * around, ending with dc in last dc. Join. 3rd rnd: Ch 3, dc in each st around, increasing 18 dc evenly around—to inc 1 dc. make 2 dc in 1 st. 4th rnd: Ch 3, dc in next dc, make a raised st over next dc as before, * dc in next 3 dc, make a raised st over the last dc worked on previous rnd. Repeat from * around. Join. 5th rnd: Ch 3, dc in each st around, increasing as necessary to keep work flat. Join. 6th rnd: Sc in same place as sl st, * skip 2 dc, 5 dc in next dc (shell made), skip 2 dc, sc in next dc. Repeat from * around. Join. Ch 11 (for loop), sl st in same place as sl st below and sl st in each ch of loop. Break off.
