Five feminine, frivolous and fun-to-make bags —adorable with spring-summer costumes and all amazingly easy to make. Three have Basket Bag Bottoms (ready-made); all have Drawstring Tops, and all are ready to carry everything that goes into a lady's purse.

MATERIALS REQUIRED:
DRITZ Luxury Belastraw Art. 110, 1 tube each of 3 colors
DRITZ Basket Bag Bottom No. 266
DRITZ Metal Crochet Hook No. 2
Lining material

Working ½” in from edge, with 1st color make 3 sc in each point; increasing or decreas­ing as necessary to have 206 sc all around. Hereafter work in the back loop of each st as follows:
1st rnd: * Sc in 24 sc, hdc in 18 sc, dc in 43 sc, hdc in 18 sc. Repeat from * once more. Draw edges of basket together to a space of 4" with a piece of string from center of sc's on one side to center of sc's on opposite side. Drop 1st color and pull a loop of 2nd color through loop on hook. Always change color in this way.
2nd rnd: * Sc in 24 sc, dec 6 hdc evenly over 18 hdc (leaving 12 hdc), dec 21 dc evenly over 43 dc (leaving 22 dc), dec 6 hdc evenly over 18 hdc (leaving 12 hdc). Repeat from * once more. Drop 2nd color, pick up 3rd color.
3rd rnd: * Sc in 24 sc, hdc in 12 hdc, dc in 22 dc, hdc in 12 hdc. Repeat from * once more. Drop 3rd color, pick up 1st color—color se­quence is now established.
4th rnd: * Sc in 24 sc, dec 3 hdc evenly over 12 hdc (leaving 9 hdc), dec 5 dc evenly over 22 dc (leaving 17 dc), dec 3 hdc over 12 hdc (leaving 9 hdc). Repeat from * once more, change color.
5th rnd: * Sc in 24 sc, hdc in 9 hdc, dc in 17 dc, hdc in 9 hdc. Repeat from * once more, change color.
6th rnd: * Sc in 24 sc, hdc in 9 hdc, dec 8 dc evenly over 17 dc (leaving 9 dc), hdc in 9 hdc. Repeat from * once more, change color.
7th rnd: * Sc in 24 sc, hdc in 9 hdc, dc in 9 dc, hdc in 9 hdc. Repeat from * once more, change color.
8th and 9th rnds: Repeat 7th rnd keeping color sequence.
10th rnd: * Sc in 24 sc, hdc in next 27 sts. Repeat from * once more. End off all colors.

BEADING: With 3rd color ch 6, * skip 3 sts, dc in next st, ch 3. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st in 3rd st of starting ch-6.

RUFFLE—1st rnd: Ch 6, tr in same place as sl st, * ch 2, in next dc make tr, ch 2 and tr. Repeat from * around. Join. End off 3rd color.
2nd rnd: Attach 1st color in 1st ch-2 sp. Ch 6, tr in same space, * ch 2, in next space make tr, ch 2 and tr. Repeat from * around. Join. End off 1st color.
3rd rnd: Attach 2nd color in 1st ch-2 space; then repeat 2nd rnd. End off.

CORDS: Cut four 2½-yd. strands of 2nd color. Follow directions for Twisted Cord on patternbook page. Line with lining material.
