LARGE CIRCLE
Starting at center, ch 5. Join with sl st to form a ring.
1st rnd—Ch 3, 14 dc in ring. Join with sl st to top of ch-3 (15 dc counting the turn­ing ch as 1 dc).
2nd rnd—Ch 3, dc at base of ch-3, 2 dc in each st around (30 sts). Join.
3rd rnd—Ch 3, * 2 dc in next st, dc in next st. Repeat from * around (45 sts). Join.
4th rnd—Ch 3, then work dc around, in­creasing 15 sts as before (60 sts). Join.
5th rnd—Ch 3, dc in next st, * popcorn in next st—to make a popcorn work 5 dc in same st, drop loop from hook, insert hook in top of 1st of 5 dc and draw dropped loop through—dc in same st where popcorn was made, dc in next 3 sts. Repeat from * around, ending with 2 dc after last pop­corn (15 popcorns). Join.
6th rnd—Ch 3, work dc in each dc and each popcorn around (75 sts).
7th, 8th and 9th rnds—Ch 3, work dc in each st around, increasing 15 sts in rnd (120 sts at end of 9th rnd).
10th rnd—Ch 3, * popcorn in next st, dc in next 4 sts. Repeat from * around (24 popcorns).
Repeat the last 4 rnds 2 more times (33 pop­corns on 3rd popcorn rnd and 42 popcorns on 4th popcorn rnd). Work 1 rnd of sc, fasten off.

SMALL CIRCLES (Make 2)
Repeat large circle to 5th rnd inclusive, then work 1 rnd of sc and fasten off.

FINISHING
Cut 2 pieces of cardboard exact size of small circles. Cover cardboard circles with lining. Cut linings and interlining for large circle, following directions in kit H-113. Cut cardboard circle ¼" smaller than buckram interlining. Sew linings of large circle, inserting cardboard between outer lining and buckram. Sew small card­board circles in place (see illustration). Be­fore sewing in slide fastener cut away top 2" of large circle of cardboard (on each side of bag). Tack crocheted pieces around lin­ing, then join small and large circles by working sc around. Make 2 loops for handle as follows: Ch 8, dc in 4th ch from hook and in next 3 ch (5 dc counting the turning ch). Ch 3, turn. Next row—Dc in next dc, popcorn in center st, dc in next dc and in top of turning ch. Ch 3, turn. Following row—Dc across. Ch 3, turn. Repeat the last 2 rows until there are 5 popcorns, ending with dc row. Fasten off. Sew loops in place at top of small circles as illustrated, thus attaching handle. Make short chain and attach pull to slide fastener tab.
