Gauge: 5 sc = 1"

Rnd 1—Starting at one end of bag base, work 3 sc in each hole. Rnd 2—Sc increas­ing or decreasing evenly around to 108 sts. Rnd 3—Sc in each st. Rnd 4—* Ch 4, skip 2 sc, sc in next sc. Repeat from * around (36 loops). Rnds 5 and 6—* Ch 4, sc in next loop. Repeat from * around. Rnd 7—* 4 sc in each of next 2 loops, 5 sc in next loop. Repeat from * around (156 sc). Work sc even to 1½" from loops, then repeat rnds 4, 5 and 6 (52 loops). Next rnd—Work 3 sc in each loop around. Work sc even to 1½" from loops. Repeat rnds 4 and 5 once more. Next rnd—Ch 3, sc in same loop, * sc in next loop, (ch 3, sc in same loop) twice. Repeat from * around (104 small loops). Last rnd—Sc in each loop. Sl st in next st. End off.

Finishing—Holding rods on bag frame firmly, unscrew end, thus releasing rods. Mark off center 10 small loops directly over one short end of bottom. Run rod in and out through next 42 loops, re­mount rod on frame. Skip next 10 loops for end of bag, run 2nd rod through next 42 loops and remount. Adjust full­ness and fold gussets to inside.
