Milwards Steel Crochet Hook No. 2/0 (double zero).
Cotton batting … Pink and black felt.

GAUGE: 5 sc make 1 inch; 6 rows make 1 inch.

BODY … Starting at back, ch 14. 1st row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 1, turn. 2nd row: Sc in each sc across, increasing 1 sc in last sc—to inc 1 sc, make 2 sc in 1 sc. Ch 3, turn. 3rd row: 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch and in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. Repeat 2nd and 3rd rows once more. Repeat 2nd row once more. There are 22 sc on row. Work is at top of back. Ch 1, turn. Now work 14 rows without increasing. Ch 1, turn. 21st row: Dec 1 sc—to dec 1 sc, work off 2 sc as 1 sc—sc in next sc and in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. 22nd row: Sc in each sc across, decreasing 1 sc at end of row. Ch 1, turn. 23rd row: Repeat 21st row. Ch 1, turn. Work 1 row without decreasing. Ch 1, turn. Now work as before, increasing 1 sc at top of back on every row until there are 22 sc on row. Work without increasing until 29 rows in all have been completed. Ch 1, turn. Next row: Dec 1 st at beginning of row, sc in each remaining sc across. Ch 1, turn. Following row: Sc in each of 13 sc. Ch 1, turn. Repeat last row 3 times more. Ch 1, turn. Work 3 more rows, decreasing 1 sc at back of head on every row. Break off at end of last row. This completes one half of Bunny. Make a second piece in same manner. Now, working through both thicknesses, sc closely around entire edge, stuffing the Body before opening becomes too small. Cut 2 pink felt and 2 black felt ears. Overcast one pink and one black ear piece together. Fold ears at lower edge and sew in place. Cut 4 black felt front and 4 back leg sections. Overcast sections of legs around edge, stuffing loosely. Sew in place. Cut 2 pink felt circles for eyes, a black felt square for nose and sew in place. With heavy black thread make 3 whiskers at each side of face. Cut black felt tail, fringe edges and sew in place.
