Blouse Insertion Pattern

MATERIALS:
J. & P. Coats Tatting-Crochet, Size 70, 5 balls of Dusty Pink (No. 41), 2 balls of Dk. Yellow (No. 43) and 1 ball of Hunter's Green (No. 48) … A blouse … Steel Crochet Hook No. 14.

FIRST STRIPFirst Flower … Starting at center with Dusty Pink, ch 8. Join with sl st to form ring. 1st rnd: Sc in ring, * ch 5, holding back on hook the last loop of each d tr make 2 d tr in ring, thread over and draw through all loops on hook (cluster made), ch 3, sl st in tip of cluster (picot made), ch 5, sc in ring. Repeat from * 7 more times. Sl st in first sc. Break off.

CENTER … With Dark Yellow, ch 4, 15 dc in 4th ch from hook. Sl st in top of starting chain. Sew Center in place.

SECOND FLOWER … Starting at Center with Dusty Pink, ch 8. Join with sl st to form ring. 1st rnd: Sc in ring, ch 5, make a 2-d tr cluster in ring, ch 1, sl st in any picot on First Flower, ch 1, sl st in tip of cluster on Second Flower, ch 5, sc in ring and complete as for First Flower.
   Make 19 more flowers, joining each to previous one as Second was joined to First Flower, having 3 free picots on each side of joinings.

HEADING … Attach Green to tip of 4th free petal of end flower pre­ceding joining, ch 5, * dc in tip of next free petal, ch 5, sc in tip of next petal, ch 5, dc in tip of next petal, d tr in joining of flowers, ch 3, d tr in same place. Repeat from * across. Break off. Work Heading on opposite long side in this manner. Make another strip same as this.

NECKBAND…Work a third strip of 23 flowers as before, having 1 more ch on chains of lower heading of strip and 1 ch less between chains on upper heading of strip. Sew strips neatly in place.
