Edging Pattern #8011
Make a chain slightly longer than desired length. 1st row: ** 2 d c in 4th ch from hook, holding back the last loop of each d c on hook; thread over and draw through all loops on hook, ch 1 tightly (a cluster made); ch 4. Repeat from ** until 4 clusters are made; * skip 15 ch, s c in next ch, 4 more clusters. Repeat from * across. Fasten off. 2nd row: Attach thread between 2nd and 3rd clusters of 1st cluster-loop, * make 4 clusters, s c between 2nd and 3rd clusters of next cluster-loop. Repeat from * across. Fasten off. 3rd row: Attach thread between 2nd and 3rd clusters of 1st cluster-loop, * ch 10, s c between 2nd and 3rd clusters of next loop. Repeat from * across. Ch 1, turn. 4th row: In each loop make 19 s c. Ch 4, turn. 5th row: * Skip 1 s c, half d c in next s c, ch 1, skip 1 s c, d c in next s c, ch 1, skip 1 s c, tr in next s c, ch 1, skip 1 s c, d tr in next s c, ch 1, skip 1 s c, tr tr in next s c, ch 1, skip 1 s c, d tr in next s c, ch 1, skip 1 s c, tr in next s c, ch 1, skip 1 s c, d c in next s c, ch 1, skip 1 s c, half d c in next s c, skip 1 s c of next loop, half d c in next s c, ch 1. Repeat from * across. Ch 1, turn. 6th row: 3 s c in each of 4 ch-1 sps, ** s c in next tr tr, make a Clones knot—to make a Clones knot, ch 4, * thread over, pass hook under ch-4, thread over and draw loop forward. Repeat from * 7 more times, thread over and draw through all loops on hook, ch 1 to fasten, s c in 1st ch of ch-4. Make 3 s c in each of next 4 ch-1 sps, 2 s c in next sp, 3 s c in each of next 4 ch-1 sps. Repeat from ** across. Fasten off.
