EDGING No. 8208-A … Make hairpin lace for desired length. Fasten off. 1st row: Attach thread through 1st 5 loops, insert hook through all 5 loops at once and * make 5 s c under all 5 loops (be careful to keep twist), insert hook through next 5 loops and repeat from * across. Ch 4, turn. 2nd row: Make d c in every other s c, with ch 1 between each d c. Fasten off. This completes straight edge. Attach thread at opposite side, through 5 loops, and work as for 1st row of previous side. Ch 5, turn. Next row: * S c in last s c of 5-s c group, s c in 1st s c of next group, ch 5. Repeat from * across, ending with sc. Ch 5, turn. Following row: * In next ch-5 make 6 tr separated by ch 1 (fan); ch 1, s c in next ch-5, ch 1. Repeat from * across. Ch 3, turn. Last row: * S c in next ch-1, ch 3. Repeat from * across, but do not make ch-3 between fans. Fasten off.
