LILY DOUBLE QUICK Mercerized Crochet Cotton, Art. 50: 2 skeins Coral Pink and 1 skein Cream.

300 yards of silver metallic thread.

No. 1 Steel Crochet Hook.

SIZE — 12 x 18 inches.

ROW 1: Starting at one long side with 1 strand each Coral Pink and silver, ch 3, hdc in 3d ch from hook to form ring, ch 2, 11 hdc in ring, join with sl st in ch-2; * ch 5, hdc in 3d ch from hook to form ring, ch 2, 5 hdc in half of ring, sk 1 ch between circles, sl st in 2d ch; keeping lp on hook and same side facing, turn half-circle around to left (counter clockwise), to bring hook in position to work in other half of ring; 5 hdc in ring, join to ch-2; repeat from * for 18 inches. Fasten off.

ROW 2: Ch 3, hdc in 3d ch from hook to form ring, ch 2, 9 hdc in ring, remove hook from lp, insert it in 3d hdc (from joining of circles) on top of 1st Circle at start of last row, catch lp and pull thru (sl st made), 2 hdc in bal. of ring, join to ch-2; * ch 5, hdc in 3d ch from hook to form ring, ch 2, 5 hdc in half of ring, sk 1 ch between circles, sl st in next ch, turn half-circle around to left (as in Row 1), 3 hdc in other half of ring, join with sl st (as for last circle) in center hdc on next circle in last row, 2 hdc in bal. of ring, join to ch-2. Repeat from * across. Fasten off.

Repeating Row 2, make 3 more rows in Coral Pink and silver, then 2 rows Cream and silver, 1 row Coral and silver, 2 rows Cream and silver and 5 rows Coral and silver (15 rows).

Stretch and pin Mat right-side-down in true shape. Steam and press dry thru a cloth.
