        Materials  Required—AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY "PURITAN" MERCERIZED CROCHET AND  KNITTING COTTON, ARTICLE 40
  1—300 yd. Ball  White and 1—50 yd. Ball "STAR" Pearl Cotton, Article 90, Size 5. Red  or any Color desired. 
  Steel Crochet Hook  No. 8. 
With White, ch 66,  join being careful not to twist ch, ch 5, skip 2 sts of ch, d c in next st, *  ch 2, skip 2 sts of ch, d c in next st, repeat from * all around, ch 2, join in  3rd st of ch, (22 meshes) drop white. 
  2nd Row. Attach Red, ch 3,  * 2 d c in next mesh, d c in next d c, repeat from * all around, join, break  Red. 
  3rd Row. Pick up White, ch  5, d c in same space, * ch 2, 1 d c, ch 2, 1 d c in next d c, repeat from * all  around, ch 2, join in 3rd st of ch. 
  4th Row. Ch 5, d c in next d  c, * ch 2, d c in next d c, repeat from * all around, ch 2, join in 3rd st of  ch. Repeat the last row 13 times, drop White. 
  18th Row. Attach Red and  work same as last row, break Red. 
  Pick up White and  work 2 more rows of 2 ch meshes, break thread. 
  Edge. Attach Red in d c,  * ch 3, d c in 3rd st from hook, s c in next d c, repeat from * all around,  break thread. 
  Attach Red at top  and work 2 s c in each mesh and 1 s c in each d c, break Red. 
  Bib. With White, ch 17,  d c in 8th st from hook, ch 2, skip 2 sts of ch, d c in next st, * ch 2, skip 2  sts of ch, d c in next st, repeat from *.
  2nd, 3rd and 4th  Rows. Ch 5, turn, d c in next d c, * ch 2, d c in next d c, repeat from *, ch 2, d c  in 3rd st of ch. 
  Shoulder Strap. Ch 5, turn, d c in  next d c, * ch 5, turn, d c in 3rd st of ch, repeat from * 6 times, break  thread. 
Skip 2 meshes of  4th row, attach thread in next d c and work same as other shoulder strap, ch 5,  join to opposite shoulder strap, sl st across last mesh, ch 5, turn. 
Next Row. D c in next d c,  ch 2, d c in center st of ch 5, ch 2, d c in next d c, ch 2, d c in 3rd st of  ch, ch 5, turn and work 3 more rows of open meshes, break thread. 
With Red work  scallop edge around sides of bib same as on skirt working a row of s c across  each short end. Work a row of s c around neck edge of bib. Sew bib in position  as illustrated. 
Bow. With White, crochet  a ch about 12 inches long, d c in 6th st from hook, * ch 1, skip 1 st of ch, d  c in next st, repeat from * across ch, break thread. Attach Red, ch 3, s c in  next d c, * ch 3, s c in next d c, repeat from * around entire strip. Tie into  bow and sew to back of apron as illustrated.
