Make hairpin lace for desired length. Break off. 1st row: Attach thread to 1st 5 loops on one side (taking care to keep the twist) and, working on all 5 loops at the same time, ch 3 (to count as d c), * ch 3, 4 d c in same 5-strand loop, ch 3, d c in same loop, d c in next 5-strand loop (taking care to keep the twist as before). Repeat from * across, ending row with ch-3, d c in last loop. Ch 6, turn. 2nd row: * D c in ch just before next d c-group, d c in each of next 4 d c, d c in 1st ch of next ch-3, ch 3. Repeat from * across, ch 5, turn. 3rd row: Skip 2 d c, d c in next d c, ch 2, skip 2 d c, d c in 1st ch of next ch-3. Continue in this manner, making ch-2 sps across. Break off.
