Join. 2nd row: Ch 5 (to count as d c and ch-2), * skip 2 s c, d c in next s c, ch 2. Repeat from * along row. In corner s c, make 2 d c with ch-5 between (this is an increase). Continue with pattern, making sp over sp along edge of medallion. Join with sl st to 3rd ch of ch-5 first made. 3rd row: Ch 5, * d c in next d c, ch 2. Repeat from * across, making sp over sp. In corner increase as for 2nd row, making 2 d c with ch-5 between in 3rd ch of corner ch-5. Continue along edge. Join. 4th row: Ch 9, * s c in 5th ch from hook (1 p made), d c in next d c, ch 6. Repeat from * along row. In 3rd ch of corner ch-5, make 2 d c with ch-1 and ch-5 p between. Continue with pattern. Join. Break off.
