Edging. To begin, ch 12, turn. 1st row: 3 d c in 4th ch from hook, ch 3, 3 d c in same place (1 shell made), ch 7, sl st in last ch of foundation. Ch 3, turn. 2nd row: 10 d c in ch-7 loop, ch 2; into next ch-3 sp make: 3 d c, ch 3, 3 d c (shell over shell). Ch 3, turn. 3rd row: Shell over shell, ch 2, d c in 1st d c of 10-d c group, * ch 2, skip 1 d c, d c in next d c. Repeat from * across, ending row with d c in turning ch-3. Ch 3, turn. 4th row: 3 d c in 1st sp, s c in same sp; into each of next 3 sps make: s c, 3 d c, s c, then s c in next sp, 2 d c in same sp, d c in next d c, ch 2, shell over shell. Ch 3, turn. 5th row: Shell over shell, ch 7, skip 2 ch, d c in next d c. Ch 3, turn. The last 4 rows (2nd to 5th incl.) constitute the pattern. Work in pattern for length desired. Break off.
Curtain Tie Back. Make 4 pieces same as edging, each about 16 inches long. With right side of two pieces toward you, place pieces so that each turning ch-3 of shells is adjacent to turning ch-3's of corresponding shells. Sew ch-3's together. Make another tie back same as this.
