Tie Backs Pattern, No. 944

Materials: Clark's O.N.T. (3 balls) or J. & P. Coats (2 balls) Mercerized Crochet, size 10.
Milward's steel crochet hook No. 6.

First Ring. Wind thread around 2 fingers 12 times, to form ring. Then make 60 s c in ring. 2nd and 3rd rnds: S c in back loop of each s c, making 2 increases in each rnd. Hereafter pick up both loops of each s c. 4th rnd: * Ch 3, sl st in 1st ch (thus a ch-3 p is made), skip 1 s c, s c in next s c. Repeat from * until 5 p's in all are made. Then s c in each of next 6 s c. Repeat from beginning of rnd (four 5-p groups in rnd). Break off.

Second Ring. Work as for 1st ring until 3rd rnd is completed. 4th rnd: * Ch 2, insert hook in 1st p of 1st ring (keeping right side of work facing you), draw loop through, ch 1, skip 1 s c of 2nd ring, s c in next s c. Repeat from * 4 more times (thus joining 2nd ring to 1st). Continue as for 4th rnd of 1st ring. Break off.

Make 9 more rings, joining each ring to previous one as 2nd ring was joined to 1st. Make another tie-back same as this.
