Towel Edging Pattern, No. 8188

Materials: Clark's O.N.T. or J. & P. Coats Pearl Cotton, size 5, 2 balls.
Milward's steel crochet hook No. 7.

Make a chain slightly longer than length desired. 1st row: S c in 3rd ch from hook, s c in each ch across. Ch 4, turn. 2nd row: Tr in next s c, * ch 3, tr in same place leaving the last 2 loops on hook, skip 2 s c, tr in next s c, working off 2 loops at a time until all loops are worked off. Repeat from * across. Ch 4, turn. 3rd row: 4 tr between 1st and 2nd tr, * skip ch-3 loop, d c between next 2 tr, skip ch-3 loop, 5 tr between next 2 tr. Repeat from * across. Ch 2, turn. 4th row: S c in next tr, * d c in each of next 3 tr, s c in next tr, s c in d c, s c in next tr. Repeat from * across. Break off. Sew edging to towel. Work oppo­site end to correspond.
