Materials: Clark's O.N.T. or J. & P. Coats Mer­cerized Crochet, size 50, 1 ball each of any two colors.
Milward's steel crochet hook No. 11.
5 inches of narrow elastic.

Band. With one color, ch 11, turn. 1st row: Half d c in 3rd ch from hook, half d c in each ch across (10 half d c, counting turning ch as 1 half d c). Ch 2, turn. 2nd row: Half d c in each half d c across. Ch 2, turn. Hereafter repeat 2nd row until band measures 12 inches. Break off.

Daisies. With second color, starting at center, ch 3, turn. 1st rnd: 6 s c in 3rd ch from hook. 2nd and subsequent rnds: 2 s c in each s c until there are 18 s c in the rnd. Next rnd: * Sl st in next s c, ch 12 (thus starting petals), s c in 2nd ch from hook, then, working across ch, make 1 half d c, 2 d c, 3 tr, 2 d c, 1 half d c, 1 s c, sl st in s c at start of ch, s c in next s c. Repeat from * around (9 petals). Break off.

Center. With first color, ch 2, 6 s c in 2nd ch from hook. 2nd and subsequent rnds: 2 s c in each s c until there are 18 s c in the rnd. Then work 2 rnds without increasing. Next rnd: * Skip 1 s c, s c in each of next 2 s c. Repeat from * around until 8 s c remain. Stuff this center lightly with cotton and continue as before until 1 s c remains. Break off. Sew center to daisy. Make another daisy same as this. Then make 2 more daisies reversing colors. Sew daisies on as in illustration. Sew elastic to each end of band.
