Drop shaded color, attach solid color and draw through the 2 loops on hook; working over shaded color to conceal it, make 3 solid color d c in next d c (2 d c increased), completing 3rd d c with shaded color. Repeat from * around. Join. Continue in this manner, increasing as before and making 2 additional solid color d c in solid color sections on each rnd until all shaded sts are replaced by solid sts. Break off shaded color and make solid color d c's around, increasing 12 d c on each rnd (be careful not to have increases fall over previous ones) until piece measures about 11 inches in diameter.
